Celebrated my anniversary here tonight and I must really commend Chef Sky & the team for their dedication to their food and service. The atmosphere was light hearted, friendly and filled with laughter – unlike the typical formal experience. The food was yummy – please refer to the pics which will make you feel hungry. The service standard was impeccable as they noted my stomach discomfort and dietary restrictions. Definitely will recommend to friends and family. Thank you for the experience!

Customer Reviews:

Jamie WX
Legit obsessed with the food here. Reminds me of the high-end Japanese food you can get at restaurants or even in Japan. It’s a small space with 6 seats or so – probably best to takeaway. I love the salmon, saba (has lots of bones, though), and chicken bentos so far. Comes with either a salad or a drink. Sweet friendly ladies behind the counter, too. I’m a repeat customer!

Khoo Vivian
Cosy place, friendly staffs! The teriyaki chicken bento was nice, it served with flavourful sauce, the Japanese rice is well-cooked. Highly recommend! I will pay my next visit.

Go Huat
Yaki butabara bento is well marinated and the rice is so fluffy! So nice to put our name on the bento as this was a company lunch event! Thank you Namino Hana!

Customer Reviews:

Jaclyn
Himawari – The Japanese buffet I didn’t want to tell you about. Look, I really wanted to gatekeep this one—but good food deserves a little spotlight. Himawari Japanese Restaurant quietly delivers one of the most satisfying Japanese buffet experiences out there, and I’m still dreaming of that sashimi. Let’s start with the Shabu Shabu. The broth starts off soft and light, but after a good simmer? It transforms into this comforting, umami-rich hotpot that hits the spot—especially after you’ve gone ham on the sashimi. And speaking of sashimi—fresh, chunky, generous. No sad slivers here. The tako sashimi had me going back for seconds (and thirds), and the variety? Definitely punches above its price point. Soft shell crab came out cold—hard pass. I enjoyed the grilled shishamo, but the fried version didn’t quite hit. The fried stuff, especially the tempura, is a must-try though—light, crisp, and all kinds of satisfying. Sushi is okay, and I found the handrolls not too exciting. So unless you’re a diehard, maybe don’t waste precious stomach real estate there. And now for dessert: they only offer four ice cream flavours, but these come in individual tubs and taste like the good stuff—not cheap, fluffy filler. It’s a classy little ending to a full-on feast. Honestly, I didn’t have enough stomach to try everything—but what I did manage to devour was seriously worth it. Verdict: An underrated gem for Japanese buffet lovers. Great quality, comforting hotpot, and a satisfying sweet finish. Come hungry, pace yourself, and maybe… let’s keep this one hush-hush.

Sebastian Lee
Very thick cut of sashimi. Food is great. Quite a popular place, best to reserve beforehand. The yu sheng is the well thought out, feels light yet flavourful; i would say even better than the traditional yu sheng.

Hao Tan
We had japanese buffet dinner. The spread and dishes provided was sufficient and adequate. Was surprised to find the sashimi served was thick and fresh to enjoy. The restaurant atmosphere was good, not too many tables hence the crowds wasn’t too large. The service by the staffs team were good. We enjoyed the evening. Serving speed was fast even with the restaurant crowded. Car parking was easy. Pricing was reasonable for the spread they provided. Will plan to revisit soon.

Tried the delivery, the bento was superb. The bento from gyu bar live up to the bento expectations, even when the food is not piping hot, it taste equally good if not better! Both the buta and chicken don have generous servings and are both nice and tasty.

PK Tan
I will pick one day to try their food in the restaurant. The bento meat is excellent, the fish roe is so juicy, the uni is great but not the best I tried before, however it’s still acceptable.

Customer Reviews:

Irene Lim
It was said that they served good Japanese food. Half agree. Food was not too bad. We had bento too but didn’t take picture. The chicken was not so nice as it was not seasoned well and has the frozen meat taste. The salmon sashimi was cut too thick. My favourite is the salmon skin but not sure if it’s made in house. The ebi maki was good too.

Nick Koh
Had the grilled salmon bento box and hot tea. The bento box comes with 3 pieces of sashimi and small salad and miso soup.

Erich Chia
I tried their omakase menu and was thoroughly impressed. The sashimi was exceptionally fresh, with each piece showcasing the quality of the ingredients. The chef’s combination of flavors and textures was well-balanced, making every bite a delight. Additionally, the staff were attentive and hospitable, ensuring a seamless dining experience. Toh Hong Rui
Delicious Japanese food. Ordered a set of sashimi, bento, and a beef yuzu sauteed. Sashimi was fresh, and almost all cuts of meat tasted rich and creamy. The swordfish was the standout fish. The Natsu bento set came with a variety of side dishes. Tha beef yakiniku was well seasoned and well cooked, and the garlic fried rice was fragrant and not too salty. The beef yuzu sauteed is an interesting dish to try, being served with a yuzu sorbet at the side. The beef was nicely cooked, and eaten with the yuzu sorbet creates an interesting flavour and sensation, fusing sweet, sour, and savoury, and balancing warm and cold. Definitely coming back again for the dishes.

My friend and I had a pleasant dinner at this place. It was not crowded on weekday night which was great for us to have good conversation. We both ordered their bento set which was pretty elaborate. The trio salmon donburi was fresh and each piece melts in your mouth. My favourite of the bento was the duck slices. Each slice was so juicy. What a treat! I love the salted ice cream too which gave a good end to a delicious meal. Their service was impeccable too. Very attentive. Hope the team continues to keep up the good work.

This is my 2nd visit and I absolutely love the Kamemeshi series. On my first visit I had the salmon and 2nd visit I had the wagyu beef. Both were excellent and so flavourful. The set menu is very reasonable and it comes with starters, mains and dessert ( I had yuzu sorbet on both occasion and it was delicious.) The service is great as well. I booked the private rooms and even though the doors were always closed, the service staff comes in to check on our needs. I will definitely be back again.

Xaxxolonch
Love the food here! Their kamameshi was superb. The dashi stock that made paired with the high quality Japanese rice perfect! Their miso was a big disappointed tho, not that special but their salmon was super fresh and soft, a bit fatty which suits me well, paired with the fish roe, super delicious. Their service was super good too, polite.

Quin Chen
Food quality and portions are good and very filling. The kamameshi is fluffy and flavourful. Tempura was light and crispy. Loved their chawanmushi which tasted homemade and wasn’t too salty. The steamed egg was wobbly and melt in the mouth. Charles was really attentive and helpful in his service. Other service personnel were ok, relatively attentive. Was full house on a weekend so reservations recommended.
