1. Okasa Sushi Bar

Okasa Sushi Bar Best Sashimi In Singapore

There is no doubt that Osaka Sushi Bar is among the top sushi restaurants in Singapore, offering a unique fine dining experience with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients and regional flavours. Their daily-made gyoza is a must-try, and their ramen is powerful and smooth. Taste the expertly made agedashi tofu, chawan mushi, sushi, and sashimi. Their cheesecake – a customer favourite – is the ultimate dessert because of its perfectly balanced sweetness and fluffy texture.

Perfect for friends and couples, the atmosphere is cosy and calm. A personal touch is added by owner Joyce’s warm hospitality, making every stay unforgettable. A great place for sushi lovers looking for excellent Japanese food.

Customer Reviews

Yi Lu
The food is exquisite, the ingredients are very fresh, there is no excessive cooking, and the taste of the ingredients is preferred. The ramen is strong and smooth, and the dining environment is quiet, suitable for couples and friends to have a drink. I also have to recommend the cheese cake. It has a very glutinous texture. The texture of the cheese is just right and not too sweet. Cut a piece to use as a dessert when watching a movie. It is very good to go with tea at afternoon tea. The elderly and children like it.

Susan Tan
Fantastic lunch at Okasa..the gyoza is a must try as it is freshly made daily, very good & fresh sashimi & sushi, i love the chawan mushi & agedashi tofu ..every dish was great👍 Staff were very attentive despite a busy lunch crowd. Will definitely be back to try more of the large selections from the menu.

I have been going for several years and the consistency is extraordinary for singapore. The chef is experienced kind and always with good interactions with customers . The rice is at the right temperature and the fish is top. This restaurant is special for its grilled nodoguru (sea perch) almost impossible to find outside Japan.. served here in a seaweed wrap . This Itself is worth the visit !!!! That is a special fish and chef charcoals it a special way. Nice surprises like yuba tofu. Singapore is full of Japanese restaurants.. I keep going back to Ayumu. Recommend for lunch.

Edmund Tan
This is a favorite go-to for omakase lunch. We have never been disappointed. Service is excellent from greeting, through the meal to send off. Chefs that we had each time were professional and polished. We were fortunate today to be served by Nakajima-san, the Chef de Cuisine. Each item is sufficiently introduced without undue fluff. Waitresses are unobtrusive, yet always there for every need. Items served vary each time. The hand rolls appear regularly and are very good. We had a charcoal charred mackerel today that was very good- clean fresh taste with a wonderful char on the skin side that is totally in a different league from a blowtorched aburi. The layout is worth a mention. Small intimate room that seat a maximum of perhaps 3-4 couples along a counter. We have had the place to ourselves on previous visits. This time there were 2 other couples, with 2 chefs and 2 waitresses in attendance. This lends to a very personal high touch experience.

Amelia Yeap
Wonderful omakase lunch with a friendly and sincere chef Odashima Shougo, who did his best to explain each dish and share his enthusiasm and passion for food! High quality fish and condiments. Would definitely go back again!

Went there for dinner, 2 mains, an appetiser and 2 teas ran me just under 90, the staff was friendly and accommodating (my company and I eloquently requested for the feline decorated bowl and they kindly provided), the atmosphere was hushed, peaceful and pleasant. The setting itself is nice, everything is clean and most importantly, the food was really good.

If you’re looking for premium sushi, Torio definitely delivers an experience. Can be expensive based on what’s ordered, but also serves affordable options. Service was prompt and the host ensured to educate us on what’s been served. Definitely recommend a visit.

TheKidfoodie
Very nice place that offers both teppanyaki and a sushi bar. Be informed about the mani changes I posted them up already. The teppanyaki was very value for money. You get great tender beef with awesome accompaniments (my fav is the garlic chips) and the foe gras with the pear was so good. Melt in your mouth with the crunchy pear giving acidity. The sushi course was also very good. Very interesting appetisers which sadly were not to my liking. The fish is very fresh and the sushi is the right temperature. The mini chirashi don was good. I recommend their grape ice cream. My first time trying it and it was the highlight. Very bold grape flavour that blew me away. Good stuff.

Jean-Jasmin Lee
Had an enjoyable omakase lunch. Chef Jackals is an experienced chef who is very personable and prepared food expertly while chatting with us and explaining patiently. Ingredients were very fresh and I especially enjoyed the monkfish liver, uni, crab dish various types of sashimi. The dishes were uniquely presented and special.

Sometimes it’s just better to let the picture do the talking. Each dish is creatively prepared and taste is simply exquisite. Every month, there’s a new theme to try. It never gets boring. The best cycle to repeat is once every 2 months to sample their fresh selection of food style from different seasons and prefecture. One could never get bored of this place. Prepare to pay about $140 per pax but also know that it’s worth every dollar of it.

The Omakase Lunch prepared by Kazu-san [our chef] (I hope I got his name correctly) using Hashida-san recipes was marvelous. We felt the total experience unique. The seafood is fresh and his method of preparation and the application of the sauce enhanced the freshness and taste of the seafood. The chefs were also engaging and continue to engage us in conversation which was something unique among the Omakase restaurants we went to. All the all, it was a great experience.
