I chanced upon this salon a few months ago. I was actually having coffee right across the salon. I was bored and had a lot of time before meeting a friend, so I thought, why not just get a treatment to kill time? I didn’t know it was a Japanese salon, until i was inside. I usually frequent a different salon in Orchard which happens to be a Japanese salon as well. But I was glad that they have the same treatments I have at my usual salon. I was attended to by stylist Misa who was very sweet. Please don’t worry about language barriers. The staff are well trained to understand your hair needs and will deliver professional services. Misa ensured I was comfortable through out the session. And because I did a walk in session without an appointment booking, Misa needed to be assisted by another stylist, Tamami who was such a sweetheart. The salon is 2 levels. The first level seems to be a cafe area. I was relieved that they separate the levels between the salon and cafe area. Surprisingly, they serve handcrafted mocktails and coffees there. Like they have a barista for that. Not something I get at most salons. It was a unique point. Although it’s important, because I’m there for hair, not drinks. But nevertheless, it was a nice touch of service. Interior was what you’d expect at a shophouse. Wooden floors, stairs. I do wish there was a bit more space between each work station for more privacy. There were 2 other customers there who were quite noisy. Decor was really really cute! The setting was still quite a nice place to unwind and relax. I love the little Harry Potter Mandrake root haha. The staff service was also great. As I mentioned, Misa and Tamami were both angels. I talked more to Misa, as she was the one attending to me for most of the session. I like staff who can hold a conversation without being too nosey or without making you feel obliged to keep talking forever. Misa was able to find that perfect balance of being friendly while remaining professional. And hair result was great. I did the Tokio Inkarami treatment and my hair turned out moisturised, softer and easier to handle than pre-treatment. The next day, I received a follow up text message from the salon asking if everything was good, which I find was a nice gesture of customer service. I would still go to my usual preferred salon in Orchard because I’m already comfortable with the location and the staff there. But all in all, I was very satisfied with the service and results delivered at Room Salon. And if anyone is thinking whether they’ll have a great experience there, I’d say, go for it! Thank you to Misa and Tamami both for curating a relaxing afternoon for me and for turning my hair much better! 🙂

I had the wonderful opportunity to get a slot for their new Head Spa. It was so calming! A subtle smell of jasmine-rose mix. It is nicely curtained down to give yourself some privacy and the dimness lets me have a nice short nap. Therapist Abie was knowledgable. She will share with me the condition of my scalp (with scalp scanner) before we even start. She was super gentle at every step and it was just so nice! My scalp feels so fresh and minty and my hair so fluffyy. Will definitely recommend my family and friends to try! 🥰🥰
