Simple yet elegant concept restaurant. The fact it served one of SG’s authentic food, Nasi Lemak..just perfect. On to the food, it’s just sedap (very good). Those who are nearby, living at Jalan Besar area or just have some spare time, do come down and try this wonderful Nasi Lemak.

Food is amazing and super delicious. Casher is inpatient and not sure exactly friendly but efficient. I love the large spacious eating area, not many tables but lots waiting and queuing space. Manu is great!!
Charmaine Leow
Their chicken wing is quite small so getting the set with 2 may be better. Love their curry vegetables and other sides as well. They have seating on the second floor.

Malaysian style Nasi lemak served in a fuss free style, spicy sambal to go with it! The fried chicken was perfectly cooked.
Sharina Bynes
Perfect sambal and serunding. I had the prawn set. Didn’t quite like the rice texture. Decent amount of serving. Would be better if it’s not too expensive…paid $9.20…it’s coffeeshop, perhaps $8 would be advisable. Come either before or after lunch; otherwise long queue cuz of the employees in CBD. 1.30pm was just fine for me to have a seat.

Will echo other comments that each component was insanely good, especially the ayam berempah and chili (finally not the sweet kind!). Additionally I didn’t walk away feeling gelat like other nasi lemak. Early Dec update: got the full thigh this time and it was still really good. However colleague got the sotong set, and it seemed okay only.

My first visit here and the food is fab – I really enjoyed their Chao Ta Chee Cheong Fun. The wok hey, fresh prawn and noodles made the perfect combo; and it was so good that we ordered one more plate. 😋

Always enjoy my meals here. Good food and best service staff! It was crowded when I arrived and only 1 table available for me under the fan. I mentioned that it was too cold and one of the service staff offered to swift the fan off :). Then, one of the waiters/service staff (Danniel) remembered I mentioned in my previous visit that I love sesame drinks/dessert and he offered to check if one of their signature sesame drinks could be made warm. I was very touched he remembered and lovely of him to check if the drink could be modified. Decided to stick to the original cold version and he offered to bring me some warm/hot water as well. Good food, nice variety of dishes along with the never-fail-to-disappoint experience….This place should so hit the charts in best local food joints in Singapore!

Love the grilled chicken- tasty but not too salty. Generous portions, fragrant & fluffy coconut rice that is not oily, and awesome sambal!

Gem of a find! Excellent nasi lemak hidden in Chomp Chomp. Fragrant coconut rice, homemade sambal – this is what good nasi lemak should taste like. My group had fried chicken wings, cutlet and roast chicken – all 3 were hits! Repeat orders for otah as well. Chomp Chomp is a hawker centre hence the lower rating for atmosphere (but it is also one of the cleanest hawker centres in SG).
Vivian Foo
First time trying the food at Soulfood. Bought the Boneless Chicken Thigh & Otah Nasi Lemak and 3 Fried Chicken Wings (Original). Both dishes were delicious and flavourful. The chicken wings were juicy and tasty. The grilled chicken tasted like satay, we loved the runny egg and the otah too. The chilli was nice, sweet and spicy, complements the coconut rice. Thumbs up.

Super crispy and fragrant fried chicken. Fried bits of berempah served with the chicken is sooo addictive. Their ikan bilis is the lightest and crispiest I’ve ever had!! Usually it’s crispy but with a bit of toughness. The sambal chilli was really good too. Overall the dish was a bit spicy but bearable! Queued for 20mins since store opened at 10.45am. It’s a one man show so might have to wait longer but I think it’s worth the queue.
Yingying
The aromatic chicken is super good. It was really crispy and the portion was very generous. Be prepared to queue more than 30 minutes because the queue is super long.
Jae Ong
Very delicious chicken wing at an affordable price. The chilli can be pretty spicy.

Stumbled upon this place by chance. The ikan bilis and the spicy gravy is to do for. The nasi lemak is so good I finished the whole plate ( rice and all 10000 calories😅) in less than 5 mins! Forgot to take photos of the food. Surely the best nasi lemak in Singapore and maybe Malaysia.🤩
Tay Cynne
Good and tasty nasi lemak. Just a bit out of the price just for nasi lemak. But overall, ordered rendang ala carte, one chicken cutlet rice n one fish rice. Rendang was not bad for the meat, chicken cutlet was surprisingly good because it was fried like a fried fish. The fish was good though! Soft too. 🙂

Super delicious Nasi Lemak, beef rendang, especially the onsen egg! Plus friendly service, everything is perfect!
