I ordered the promotion XL crab 🦀 on 10th April at 3.15pm. Crabs was delivered to us at 5pm, within 2 hours. The delivery service was good, the delivery man called us to inform us of the delivery. The food was delicious. My daughter really loves the black pepper crab very much. As can see from the pictures, it’s really worth the money.

Customer Reviews

Cindy Nee
Was impressed by all the dishes we ordered. The pork belly was surprisingly tender, crispy with a hint of prawn paste. The Capricorn was stellar, each kernel was coated with fragrant salted egg sauce. Nai bai was also good with sufficient wok hei. The Chao Ta bee hoon was pretty decent too with good amounts of “Liao”(pork belly, squids, prawns). Last but not least, the green chilli crab. The sauce was pretty different when compared to the typical chilli crab sauce, the taste was quite unique and had plenty of kick. Not that special when eaten on its own but paired very well with the sweet succulent crab meat. All in all, pretty great meal for the price, will definitely return.

Greatest of All Time. A Google search brought two intrepid travellers early on a Friday night to Holy Crab to discover the most succulent and scrumptious best-Chilli-Crab-served-in-Singapore. We started with the Crispy vermicelli, a winner dish despite being called Chao Dar Bee Hoon. Poached in a lovely seafood stock then fried crispy, it comes like a pancake not unlike a Spanish Fideo or Pasta Assasina. Look out for lovely intense flavours, and excellent textures. The Chilli Crab which came next was accompanied with a side of fried Mantou. The sauce surpassed any other chili crab I’ve ever had in Singapore. Where most would feature the singular dimension of sweet and spicy, Holy Crab had a lovely balance of sweet, acid, and spicy. Along with this were the addition of curry leaf and kaffir lime leaf, adding a zing that elevates this dish above all others. The crab itself was in excess of what we both should have eaten, but was cooked so delicately and well, that we ploughed through. It was good from start to finish. It was a pleasure to interact with chef and owner who was front of house. I look forward eagerly to return and experience the other offerings on his menu.

HOLYCRAB for real! Hidden inside the beautiful Arcade, you will find a restaurant with crab legs poking out of a wall. That chilli crab was absolutely perfect for a hungry family of four! It was served on top of a delicious pond of chilli sauce, which paired perfectly with their crab fried rice. So good that we ordered it twice. Also highly recommend the oriental bacon – that was ordered twice as well!

Came here on a Saturday evening to celebrate my birthday with 4 other friends. We made a reservation for 6.30pm to avoid the peak dinner timing. We ordered the Chili Crab with extra serving of matou, fried prawn balls, sambal kangkong, youtiao with minced prawn, and fried tofu. The food was served very quickly and we enjoy the quality. The service was good too, especially from the service staff, Chester who made sure that our needs are made – plates cleared and helped with our birthday cake preparation.

Very busy, especially weekends dinner time. Better to call and reserve the table in advance. Even the restaurant table is fully occupied. The waiting time for food is very short. Drunken shrimp, crispy tiny squid, lobster with garlic and vermicelli, and of course chili crab is a must order. Reasonable price. This branch is a bit far from the city but in my opinion this more tasty compare to other branches.

Came here because there’s a queue for Jumbo beside this restaurant. Decided to give it a try as this place’s quite busy too. We were ushered to a table but then it’s hard to get the servers’ attention when we were about to make orders. We ordered the Canadian chili crab as recommended by the server and it didn’t disappoint. The crab was huge and fleshy where I craved for more of it as the chili sauce was so good. We even ordered mantou buns to dip in the sauce and it’s delicious. The steamed fish was delicious as the flesh was soft and flavorsome. The razor clams with minced meats and vermicelli were fresh and flavorful. I liked the noodles with oysters too especially the crispy bits of the topping.

Coffeeshop settings. So dun mind the atmosphere rating. The pepper crab are damn good! It was their most famous dish. The chilli crab can be improve I feel, it does come with mantou for you to dip into the sauce. Yumm! Mee goreng brings me back to the 1990s era. The traditional type of Chinese style mee goreng I had at lucky plaza! Definitely better yummy crabs than those atas expensive chains that lost the standard over time. Choose male crab for the firmness and female ones for the roes. Limited crabs per day!

Vivian Foo
Spacious chinese restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. The restaurant is located on the top level (Blk 89, 6th floor) of a multi-storey carpark. From the photos pasted outside the restaurant, you can see that many movie stars and artistes have patronised the place before. We had an early Father’s Day dinner here. It was not too crowded at around 6ish on a Monday evening. The ambience is not bad, very old school. We ordered the chilli crab and 10 pieces of fried mantou (ordered another 12 pieces to soak up the remaining sauce), stir-fry Kai Lan with Garlic, Roasted Spring Chicken, Crispy Duck (the staff helped to wrap the duck slices into spring rolls), Poached Prawns, and the signature Roland’s Specialty Fried Rice. For dessert, we ordered the Snowball Mochi (minimum order is 4 pieces, only strawberry flavour is available), Sweet Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts and Chilled Almond Jelly. Food was served pretty fast. All the dishes were above average, we especially like the chilli crab, fried mantou, spring chicken, crispy duck and the yam paste (15 minutes waiting time). The fried rice had wok hey and was delicious too. The prawns were slightly too bland, but they were fresh. The chilli sauce was nice too. You can give the Mochi a miss. Service was wonderful. Definitely recommended for a nice dinner with family members and friends. Total damage was $340.

Went there without a reservation on Mother’s Day and they very kindly accommodated us. Cripsy baby squid was very crunchy and the black sauce that embraced it was deeply flavourful. Had the chilli crabs at a promotional price of $88 for 2 crabs (like 500g each). The sauce had a distinct ginger torch flower twang which was refreshing and more reminiscent of peranakan food. Crab was fresh although I would order the 1kg crabs instead next time. We had a fruit fish with the Cantonese-style sauce which had a deep dark flavour and perfectly enhanced with the thin strips of fried ginger and spring onions. Service was prompt and warmth. The service staff attending to us was like your friendly neighbourhood auntie who made appropriate conversations and thoughtful to a tee. The atmosphere evokes fond memories of 2 decades ago of cosy chinese dining. Definitely heading back here for consistent quality of food and homely service.

Date of visit : Mon 26 Feb 2024. Time : 12.30 pm. Made a booking for 3. But wasn’t really necessary as it was not crowded. First time here to try the chili crab. Promotion is on for 2 crabs at $88. Ordered 10 deep fried 馒头, asparagus and 4 yam scallops. Desserts mango sago and yam paste orh nee. Everything is good. The chili crab seems to be the original apparently since 1956. The sauce is slightly spicy and a bit sweet at the same time. Quite good. Wish they put this dish in a claypot. That way the sauce remains warm for a longer time, since it takes time to eat crabs and the sauce is the main thing.

The restaurant’s commitment to quality extends to other offerings like garlic butter sotong and ginger fried frog legs. With an affordable 1-for-1 crab promotion and a cosy, old-school ambiance, Crab at Bay is a must-visit for chilli crab enthusiasts seeking a truly satisfying culinary experience.

Customer Reviews

R C
Came here for family dinner and to enjoy the 1-for-1 crabs promotion for $48 (up from $38 last year). The 1-for-1 promotion requires the 2 crabs to be cooked in the same style, so we ordered 4 small crabs, cooked 2 ways – crabs with braised beehoon and chili crab. Also Ordered the Lychee Prawns, Garlic butter Sotong and fried mantou. All the dishes were very good, chili crab is not too sweet and not too spicy. Braised beehoon is delicious with wok hei but portion could ideally been slightly more. In the end, the total cost was only $193 for 5pax. Very worth it!

Eunice Pang Zhi Yi
Really really well-priced crabs and yummy tze char dishes! The chilli crab wasn’t too sweet which I liked and the vermicelli version soaked up the crab juices well though it may come off slightly bland to some, but nothing a little chilli can’t rectify. Special mention for the guinness pork which I had zero expectations for as I usually don’t like proteins tossed in sauce but their pork has a 1:1 ratio of meat and fat which was right up my alley. Recommend making a reservation before heading down as the space is small!

Keira Herr
Been here thrice in a week because I am addicted to their cooking. Truly a nice old school seafood tze char restaurant – so nice to find this gem. Great cooking on all items ordered, the star of the night being the nicely fried and flavorful salted egg fish skin, and the ginger fried frog legs – the crispy ginger were so addictive and the legs were crispy and soft on the inside. The eggplant with homemade tofu was so tasty, crispy on outside, the tofu was soft and all in a savory sauce. The prawn rolls were another star – tastes like how your grandmother would make it, full of chestnuts and moist pork. The assam fish head had a deep assam sauce, really good with rice. The chilli crab here was really good too, layers of flavors and so good with the buns. The crab bee hoon was full of wok hey and umami, takes you back to the 80s. Everything else, the yam roll, honestly everything I had was delicious. Honestly, not a bad dish in this restaurant.

Not the easiest location to find but boy I am glad to have found this place. The restaurant has a DIY pancake section which is great fun for kids. My family ordered from both sides, kids having fun making pancakes while adults indulged in seafood at Dancing Crab. Tried the signature chilli crabs on bread. They were very fresh! Not too spicy and not too oily. Serving size was perfect for each dish and staff was very attentive despite having a busy Saturday evening service. Kudos to them for having such positive attitudes. Will definitely visit again!

Sue G
This was highly recommended by a local as they offer a good variety of shellfish dishes. We ordered black pepper crab, crab cakes, chili crab with rice cakes, fried mushroom, and my personal favourite the rice with lobster bisque. It was a lovely take on Chinese congee but westernized. We ordered way too much food in advance and it will be better for the restaurant to advice if the food is too much for 7 pax proactively vs us over ordering. Overall the team had fun indulging the food.

Expensive yeah, but worth money. Recommend chilli crab and sourdough.

This restaurant was amazing! My cousin and her husband took us to this restaurant and it did not disappoint! We ordered: deep fried baby squid, chili crab, fried buns, marmite pork ribs, black pepper crab, and crispy cereal prawns. Everything was so delicious! The plastic bibs were needed as it gets messy! Must visit when in Singapore and try out their chili crab!

Super tasty Chili Crab! The crab was a quite nice specimen with lots of juicy meat on it. The sauce has a good punch while being smooth and savoury at the same time. Other seafood we tried was very good as well, like the abalone and the razor clams. On top there were some nice bottles of wine to choose from.

We visit Kelly Jie in Toa Payoh almost every time we are in Singapore which is approx 3-6 times a year. The food is consistently great. The salted egg and Singapore chilli crab are delicious. This is a local place set amongst the local hawker food centre and that adds to the atmosphere. The staff always make an effort with us and we appreciate that given we don’t speak mandarin. The food quality here is excellent and so the price reflects that – 2 crabs, rice, veggies & bao’s for approx SG 280 for 4 people.

lyedr
Best meal I’ve had in Singapore on my stay so far! We had the chilli crab and it was delicious, beyond expectations. But the true gem is Kelly Jie, she was a star, so kind and attentive, she even taught us how to properly eat crab as we’ve never had it before. Truly a gem. Highly suggested!!!

Very, very, very delicious food! The chilli crab is what most people come here for and it was absolutely superb! The meat was cooked perfectly and the sauce goes very well with the mantou and fried rice. Other dishes were good too such as the steamed fish mixed seafood curry. If you’re lucky enough to sit by the window, you can get a beautiful view of the river while enjoying your meal.

Last time I ate at Red House was almost 10 years ago. I must say the quality of seafood is still top notch. The chilli crab imo is much fresher and taste better than Jumbos. It will be my new chilli crab go to place for my wife and I. There is also a lobster promo and 15% off now.

Ever since started to eat their chilli crab at east coast park. Been following them to robertson quay. And then now at clarke quay. The last visit was their lunch buffet. It was so good & alot of variety. We missed out the bird nest tarts.
